Vets At Lympstone
Esme Moffett – I joined Synergy in 2013 and have always been based at Honiton, working in the Devon-Somerset-Dorset borders. In 2018 I became a shareholder of the business and in 2024, with the acquisition of Molecare, I became the Regional Lead of Synergy’s newest region; Lympstone. It’s been fun getting to know a new area and new faces, but I have felt like a new grad again getting lost on country lanes and not knowing where in the yard to park! I’m excited to continue to develop our offerings to our Lympstone clients and support the team in delivering excellent clinical and non-clinical services.
Katie Scotter – I graduated from Cambridge in 2011, and after a fun ski and summer season in France I settled in Devon and have been farm vetting here ever since. My main interests are fertility, youngstock health and infectious diseases, but I also like the variety of some of our more unusual species too. Outside of work I’m busy running around after my family and dog and occasionally have time to sail.
Johanna Marsden – I graduated from University of Bristol in 2018 and have worked at this practice since. I love the variety of my job working with Dairy, Beef and Sheep. I am currently halfway through studying for a Masters in Bovine Reproduction which so far has been very rewarding. I spend most of my spare time finding ways to entertain my cocker spaniel from walks in Dartmoor to attempting to work him.
Charlotte Leppard-Padula – I moved down from Brighton to join the former Molecare in September 2023. During my time at the University of Surrey, I spent a lot of time in the west country on placements, which is where my love of Devon came from. I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine, but have a specific interest in youngstock management and small ruminant flock health.
Anna Hardcastle – Originally from North Somerset, I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2023. I did a year’s internship at Synergy based at Rampisham, before joining the Lympstone team in August 2024. Within work I enjoy the variety of the calls, with a growing interest in sustainable farming. I organise the smallholder events, and will be taking on the running of our beef meetings (keep an eye out for the next one!). Outside of work I enjoy running and cycling, seeing friends, and all the fun that living in Exeter brings.
Nim Panesar – I graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 2018 and spent three years working in predominantly dairy practice in North Devon before relocating to join the Synergy East Team in 2021. I completed a certificate in cattle health and production with the University of Liverpool in 2023 and was lucky enough to have a sabbatical season working at a dairy practice in New Zealand in 2024. I was delighted to be offered an opportunity to move back to Devon when I returned from NZ and made an internal transfer to the Lympstone branch in summer 2025. My main clinical interest is fertility work and working to improve herd reproductive performance, and I also enjoy surgical cases. My main non-clinical interest is playing hockey and cricket and trying to fit in my matches with the weekend on-call schedule!
Nick Britten – I graduated from Liverpool in 2015 and went straight into farm practice in Wiltshire with a nice mix of dairy and beef work. After a few years I went to Cambridge to do my PhD on dairy cow behaviour, production and welfare before starting an ECBHM residency at Synergy. My main areas of interest in individual animal medicine are surgical, especially lameness, and imaging. Herd health wise I also particularly like lameness cases but also enjoy fertility, udder health, infectious diseases and youngstock. Having finished my residency and moved to the Lympstone region I am looking forward to getting to know the great variety of farms in the area.
Lorna Pillar – Lorna is currently on maternity leave after having baby Arthur in September but will be back in the team during 2026. I graduated in 2017 from Nottingham vet school and went straight into working a calving season on a large dairy farm in New Zealand, on my return I began working at Lympstone and have been here ever since. I have a keen interest in beef cattle, sheep flock health and youngstock. I am based in North Devon on my partner’s beef and sheep farm which keeps me busy!
Adam Robbins – I started my veterinary career in a busy mixed practice in south Devon before traveling to New Zealand to work for a referral farm animal practice, mainly working with a variety of smallholder clients. I enjoy all aspects of farm animal practice but have a particular interest in small ruminant and camelid medicine. I’m looking forward to returning to Devon and joining the Synergy team in January 2026!
