Youngstock Rearing Foundation Course
A course to equip those new to youngstock rearing, or wanting a refresher, with the necessary skills and knowledge to start on the road to calf rearing success. Participants will learn how to perform common practical tasks and how to optimise calf vitality and growth through good husbandry.

Attendees will learn to:
- evaluate a calf’s exterior and behaviour based on calf signals in term of signs of comfort and disease
- understand the different developmental stages in a calf rearing period
- use safe and effective techniques to move and restrain calves on farm
- resuscitation techniques for neonates, Colostrum management, feeding techniques, husbandry procedures and general disease prevention.
