Latest News … Mon 14 May 2012 10:00 …

Ed has recently spoken to Sally, Jereme’s mother who brought us up to date on latest developments:

His “day release” last Wednesday had gone very well – apparently Jereme was able to take her dog on a short walk, washing/drying up and even some little jobs in the garden. He went back to Musgrove that evening.

The fantastic news is that he is being discharged from hospital this Wednesday 16th. She asked us to pass on that the last day for visiting him in hospital will therefore be Tuesday 15th May.
There has been an outbreak of norovirus in an adjacent ward, but provided you are not too old/young visiting is allowed. Yesterday evening Jereme came out of the ward to see some children who follow the hunt on their ponies as they didn’t want to let them in.

He will continue his rehab etc at home and at a local hospital near to Kingsbridge (not sure where as yet). At this time the doctors are unsure how long he will be staying in South Devon as it will be entirely dependent on his progress.

Great news!

We will continue to ensure that all cards and messages are delivered to him and of course all messages posted on this forum are communicated to him so please continue to send your support and good wishes as they certainly do mean a lot to him. Thanks again for your continued support not only to Jereme but to all of us at Synergy Farm Health. It is truly very much appreciated.

We are happy for you to continue to send cards and letters to the practice and we will make sure that he gets them. Lorna is visiting regularly and has been passing on cards as well reading them out to him.

Thanks for all your continuing support and comments. The Synergy Practice address is available by clicking here.

We thank you for your understanding and support through a very difficult period.

  1. Jereme, It is great to hear that you are making such good progress. I shall have to come down to see you and have a beer at some point. Sorry I could not see you before I left. It’s great being back home in Oxfordshire, but I do miss you all down in the South West.

Keep making improvement, and we shall meet up at some point, maybe on the hunting field…..

    All the Best Chris

  2. Hello Jereme
We really appreciated the regular bulletins and are now hoping that no news is good news and that you are continuing to make slow but steady progress towards recovery.
Weather here terrible ,rain and yet more rain ( and mud!) and getting colder..Clifton Maybank has been cut off twice already during the past fortnight after having had no floods for 2 years.

  4. Hi Jereme, great to hear things are going so well for you. We are really missing you at Volis Farm. Calving has gone really well and we are nearly finished, we start mating tomorrow so the year ticks on. Its just not the same without you though! we are certainly enjoying the rain as you can imagine and if it warms up the grass should rocket away. We are thinking of you and cant wait until you are back in the kitchen for a coffee and a good catch up. love from Caroline and all at Volis Farm

  5. So pleased to hear the great news of your recovery. Last time you visited we were chatting about online shopping as you said you were always pushed for time and Nigel looked up and said oh Sally likes to go food shopping as its the only time she goes out. (I am still mortified of that comment) so to read that you are out and about shopping brought a smile to our faces. Look forward to reading your progress and seeing you in the near future. Nigel, Sally, Isabel & Harriet Phillips (Burleaze Farm)

  6. Hello Mr Darke
After the recent update, on return I will be expecting bacon and egg baps in the morning :)
I have been listening and reading about your fantastic progress. You have sheer grit and determination and the most fabulous family and friends Jereme.
I hope to see you very soon as I have booked the passenger seat in Andrew’s car for when he visits. Keep up with what must be hard work and I look forward to seeing you. Take care Heidi
